Some of the GP NCCs do have a brass case. My 101 has some ruboff and it is clearly brass underneath.

@ Radofan_ that is only the GP models. By this time all Rado stainless cases are solid stainless. I also agree with Mike- you should not turn that one into a stainless version. Everything else about it is correct for a GP model.

I'm 95% certain its brass! Do that ever plate gold over brass?? Anyway at some point its been plated in stainless steel for some unknown reason. I think you are both right though I'm gonna leave it as it is, although I might get a new crystal for it! :)

So it seems to be brass. None of my GP NCCs is so worn that the basic material comes out.
I think s.o. polished your GP 505 down to the brass and gave it a silver plating - which easily could be removed by you. And now you have the brass again. It needs a new gold plating, min. 10 microns. Some watchmakers offer this service, or you send the case only to a plating company.
